Taco Loco
3170 Fairfield Ave. You can get more than cheese enchiladas at Taco Loco. Arroz con pollo, homey chicken on top of Spanish rice, is a top-seller. So are the shrimp tacos, the paella, and homemade flan (a staff favorite). Customers can be adventurous at this 28-year-old restaurant. “The customer wants flavor, texture, aroma,” says owner Miguel Tomasio. “People have traveled. Two years ago, no one knew what chipotle was. Now everyone wants it.” Taco Loco offers inexpensive prices, a casual atmosphere and an outdoor patio. “Families, college kids, middle-aged, they all feel comfortable,” says Tomasio. 2nd: Señor Salsa 580 Post Rd. 3rd: Ole Mole 1030 High Ridge Rd. 3381 Post Rd. 1020 Post Rd.
