"There's not a lot to it," says Felix Ortiz, owner of Dogwood Cleaners. "We're not reinventing the wheel. We just offer good service." Ortiz previously spent seven years as general manager of Fairfield Dry Cleaners. He's put in another seven at Dogwood, which cleans about 3,300 items a week. He does say he has one advantage in gaining customer loyalty. "Fairfield is a good location," he explains. "It matters here to get to know your customers. It's a small town that likes to know its local businesses."
