Don't come in and ask for Ted. He's gone. But Joe Puglia has been running Ted the Tailor, a venerable sewing and alteration shop in Greenwich, since 1974, taking over for the eponymous Ted, who founded it in 1948. "We just kept the name," says Puglia. The shop takes in waists, shortens legs, and alters dresses, and - if anonymous posts on consumer sites on the Internet are to be believed - has fit clothes for the likes of Greenwich-ites Kathie Lee Gifford and Diana Ross.
