Okay, you could sit at your computer in, say, Weston and order a bottle of Pinot Noir from the Web site for Harry's Wine and Liquor Market. According to owner Saul Pollack, they do a massive amount of business on the internet, and the site is updated daily. But you'd be cheating yourself of the opportunity to explore their Post Road store in Fairfield. It's easy enough to find, as it's been in the same place since 1941, when Pollack's father opened the doors. Aside from the wide selection of wine, beer and spirits you'd expect to find, Harry's "The Americas Room"showcases more than 1,200 square feet of North American wine alone. There are weekly tastings Saturday afternoons, and on Wednesday nights Harry's holds classes. "We have four full-time wine people who teach them,"Pollack says. "Guest lecturers come in the summertime when they can be away from the vineyard for awhile."Later this year, Pollack is hoping to join forces with a new cheese shop that's opening nearby to host classes in pairing vin et fromage. "The goal is to get everyone coming in,"Pollack reveals. "Because once they get to know us, and know about the wine, they come back."
